Welcome to Villa Kavaya

Villa Kavaya is an elegant five-bedroom colonial style villa tastefully decorated with selected antiques and finished in recycled teak wood.

It is located close to the beach in Canggu, in the heart of the scenic village of Pererenan. The villa is a haven of tranquility surrounded by a river and lush rice fields. At the centre of the vast garden is a huge infinity swimming pool bordered by a pool deck topped with several sun loungers. At one end of the pool a joglo is perfectly placed for barbecue parties and comes furnished with a Chinese opium bed for relaxing afternoon naps.

Two hammocks and a coffee table set are arranged on the veranda of the main building, which serves as an extension to the comfortable, air-conditioned indoor living area. The two spaces are separated by huge sliding glass doors, which can alternatively be opened to let in the cool tropical breeze.

Villa Kavaya consists of five suites that are ideally configured for families or group of friends. Three are housed in the main building and each is appointed with a super king bed, ensuite bathroom with bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower. The two other suites are in separate annexes by the garden, both are furnished with a king-size bed and feature an ensuite bathroom with rain shower, overlooking the pool and garden.

A team of friendly and professional staff includes a talented chef who prepares meals from an extensive suggestion menu of Western and Asian dishes. A car and driver can be pre-arranged should guests wish to explore the other parts of the island (extra charges apply).

Villa Kavaya oozes old-world charm and elegance. This enchanting Bali retreat is tucked between two sacred rivers and rolling rice fields in the small hillside village of Pererenan.

The tranquil surroundings of this five-bedroom luxury villa in Canggu will greatly suit a family or a group of friends looking to combine picturesque views with beach-side fun, sophisticated dining and other worldly delights.

The villas colonial-style interior is reminiscent of Balis 1930s golden age when the islands magic was first discovered by western travelers and artists. Built along ancient feng shui principles that maximise geometric harmony and energy flow, it was designed to amplify the prosperity, health and good fortune of anyone who steps inside.

The monumental open-plan living, dining and kitchen area lies under a lofty alang-alang thatched roof and has teak wood flooring throughout. The solid 10-seater dining table and comfortable sofas perfectly complement the tropical outdoor views. From Sumatran carpets to whale bone fragments, Villa Kavayas antique furniture and ornaments are worthy of a guided tour.

The master bedroom and the two guest bedrooms in the main building have stunning ensuite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a bathtub. A third guest bedroom is privately situated in the wooden Javanese Gladak building within the garden and has a lovely outdoor ensuite bathroom with rain shower.

Fronting the main villa building is a stunning Ernest Hemingway-style timber porch with plenty of seating and two large hammocks, as well as a round wooden dining table for relaxed alfresco meals. And from one of the comfortable seats in the imposing wooden balé, youll fully appreciate Kavayas beautifully sculpted tropical gardens and the stylish infinity pool.

The villas helpful staff really are the cherry on this delightfully tasteful cake. The villa manager is extremely knowledgeable, and along with the housekeeper and two butlers, will tend to your every need.

Villa Kavaya is located on a quiet road alongside two small rivers that meet at the back of the villa gardens in a spot that is sacred to local Balinese people. Listening to the sounds of nature surrounded by lush green countryside, youll feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of Canggu. There are plenty of great local eateries to choose from in Pererenan, including the charming BGood Café and the cute Red Salt Café with their excellent breakfast and lunch choices.

For dinner, wed recommend Pescado for sophisticated seafood, or JIB Fusion for tandoori. Other popular surf, dining and party areas in Canggu, like Echo Beach and Jalan Batu Bolong, are less than ten minutes away by car. The village of Pererenan is often described as quintessentially Bali. Surrounded by protected green belt land, endless rice fields dotted with family temples, this area north of Canggu has avoided most of the unbridled development that has affected some other parts of the island.

The result is a friendly and family-oriented environment that attracts locals, expats and visitors alike with peaceful hillsides, organic markets and secluded beaches. Pererenan has a strong sense of pride in its local environment and is considered a pioneering village when it comes to waste management and recycling.
